CyanogenMod 10 Beta 1 a Jelly bean 4.1.1 for Samsung Galaxy Pop/Mini GT-S5570(installation and screeshots included)

With development taking pace daily in for the handsets like of ours Galaxy Pop/Mini its good and overwhelming to see that developers are bringing more and more better modded roms to our handsets. Yes another addition to it is the latest CyanogenMod 10 Beta 1 based on the newly launched Google's Android OS namely Jelly Bean 4.1.1, by the courtesy of XDA developers we are witnessing a jelly bean based rom for our Galaxy Mini/Pop.

On 26 July 2012 The developer named TheWhisp and his team brought to us the latest CyanogenMod 10 Beta 1 custom rom for our galaxy mini GT-S5570 smartphone, this rom is based on newly launched Google's android OS jelly bean, the development of this rom started farely few weeks ago when Google launched the Source of the Jelly Bean android OS, with its release many developers from the developers community started building the Rom Builds for their own handsets. Jelly Bean 4.1.1 is the latest Android OS announced by Google in their I/O event held in June 2012. In this event it also announced its Latest Galaxy Nexus 7 Tablet priced very low at just $199. Though Android Jelly Bean is not an huge upgrade to its predecessor ICS 4.0 but it has got significant improvements made the OS and as well as some features introduced that are lovely and enduring. This Jelly Bean OS has made the overall functioning pretty smooth and the interface has become lot more better, With the Introduction of Project Butter and Google Now this OS has certainly designed to make it users Go WOW as the functioning has become glitch free, it also provides for better battery life for Android Base Devices. It designed to enhance the overall experience of its users.


Now the jelly bean comes to galaxy mini as an unofficial cyanogenmod 10 and already is in its Beta stage of development, As we know it is in its development and due to lower hardware capabilities of our handset you will face certain functions still not working as well as some other glitches as well. But the dev has made all his efforts to make jelly bean usable on our handsets, many things are still not working on this rom including Deep Sleep (which means less battery life), proximity sensor, camera and HQ video playback. Rest things are supposed to work fine but, you might also find few other minor bugs. You are also likely to experience some lags within the rom, so, it's recommended to overclock your handset by substantial frequency for smooth performance.


Below is a list of what's working and what's not working within the rom as well as a short change-log of the latest Beta 1 version taken directly from the developer's thread at XDA forums.

Now you are ready to install this rom on your handset and enjoy its features though this is quite unstable version so i might not recommend this rom for your daily use as some of the features are still missing wait for the next stable release to follow, so next to follow is installation instructions and screenshots

Installation Instructions:-

 PLZ MAKE SURE YOUR BATTER IS FULLY CHARGED TO AVOID DAMAGE DURING FLASHING OF THE OS IT IS RECOMMENDED

Note : Those who have Gingerbread OS and any Custom Recovery installed on their device can skip Step 1 and Step 2. Also, those who have any custom rom installed can skip both Step 1 and 2.

1. Upgrade your firmware to Gingerbread using Odin Multidownloader v4.38.

2. Install any custom recovery available for Samsung Galaxy Mini/Pop. You may have Clock Work Mod Recovery

3.Download latest Files for galaxy mini from below.

• Unofficial CyanogenMod 10 : cm-10-20120725-UNOFFICIAL-tass-beta-1.zip
• Latest Google Apps for Jelly Bean : gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip

4. Copy the downloaded file to the (root directory of) your sd-card.

5. Reboot your device to Custom Recovery (Press Home + Power Button).

6. [Optional but, Recommended] Do a Nandroid Backup of your current rom. 

Now flash this android 4.1.1 jellybean based cyanogenmod 10 rom using clockwork mod recovery. Follow these steps :

• Choose Install Zip From Sd Card option.
• Select Choose Zip From SD Card option.
• Now select cm-10-20120725-UNOFFICIAL-tass-beta-1.zip downloaded in step 3.
• Confirm the installation and wait till the rom is installed on you handset.

• Flash Latest Google Apps for ICS in CWM recovery.  
• Choose Install Zip From Sd Card option.
• Select Choose Zip From SD Card option.
• Now select the gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip file which you downloaded in step 3.
• Confirm the installation and wait till the zip is installed on you handset.

8. Wait till the rom is flashed/installed on your device. Once done, Wipe Data from recovery menu.

9. Reboot your device from your recovery main menu.

Note : It is needed to do a complete data and cache wipe as told in Step 8.

Thats it techies now you have successfully installated the unofficiaol CyanogenMod 10 Beta 1 based on jelly bean, enjoy this jelly bean based rom in your handset and explore it features to fullest and when you are done with it you can restore it to the previous stable OS of yours by going to Clock Work Mod Recovery
