Galapagos, Sharp Android Tablet Released on December in Japan

Galapagos, ebook device or media tablets from Sharp has announced yesterday and will be available in the Japanese market starting in December. Although only released in Japan, but Sharp has shown its seriousness to be involved in the scene by presenting two models of tablet-sized 5.5 inches Galapagos and 10.8 inches and is available in a choice of red, silver, and black.

Both these tablets have a feature based on Android and WiFi communications.Galapagos version 5.5-inch has a resolution of 1024x600, while for a greater version has a resolution of 1366x800. Means that this tablet will be similar to Samsung Galaxy Tab that not all applications can run Android (limited resolution).

Sharp actually positioned the Galapagos with the primary purpose as an electronic reader. This Japanese manufacturer has provided its own ebookstore service to feature Automatic Scheduled Delivery Service. This feature will send a trial version of content that is recommended periodically. Ebookstore has been prepared with 30,000 books at launch, then the content will be expanded up to the movie, music, and games in the next year.

In Japan, Sharp will receive strong competition from the IPAD and Sony eBook Reader.Sharp aims to sell 1 million units of the Galapagos and is discussing with Verizon from the U.S. about the possible launch in the country. Unfortunately there is still no information on the price that will be priced at this versatile device.
