iDroid A rom with a feel of iOS(check it out)(screenshots and installation instructions included)
With more and more new custom roms are coming out in a market its a luring situation for Galaxy GT-S5570 POP/MINI users to try them out and make your device go cloud9. One more lucrative and awesome rom was just witnessed by me namely iDroid now why the dev named it an iDroid because its an Android OS with a feel of Apple's iOS.
iDroid is a port of aftermarket JOYOS firmware, translated to English and with re-sized and re-designed layout to better fit the screen of galaxy mini handset.
It is a JOYOS port for GALAXY GT-S5570 POP/MINI by the DEV PrinceEndymion8. It is typical based on Cyanongen Mod RC1 rom by mebitek. Its a successful replica of the iOS and has a fresh feel to the modded OS but all good things comes with some shortcomings it also has few with some limitation in iOS style OS some of the options are not clearly visible. Landscape mode is accessible error free with some applications only, Some of the Cyanongen mod settings are dummy like in this OS as most of them are unusable.
But with all these minimal and majorly unnoticeable errors. Its one of the best custom rom ever witnessed by me after a long time. The only custom rome avaible which provide the awesome iOS Experience to its users.
It is a huge improvement yo JOYOS port,which was not resized problem icons and notifications seem rather out viewable area. But the DEV has done a great job by resizing and redesigning the icons to the best of the viewable experience.
Now with all the roms flowing i wonder why not a way to install two OS in one phone and enjoy both of them just like a PC lol but still i havent seen such a thing so below are the mentioned features,glitches and improvments in iDroid for your information and after that it follows the sreenshots and step by step installation instructions. Note : Those who have Gingerbread OS and any Custom Recovery installed on their device can skip Step 1 and Step 2. Also, those who have any custom rom installed can skip both Step 1 and 2.
2. Install any custom recovery available for Samsung Galaxy Mini/Pop. You may have Clock Work Mod Recovery
3. Download iDroid version 1.2.2 custom rom (iDroid_1.2.2_Samsung_Galaxy_GT_s5570_PrinceEndymion88.zip) from here
4. Copy the downloaded file to the (root directory of) your sd-card.
5. Reboot your device to Custom Recovery (Press Home + Power Button).
6. [Optional but, Recommended] Do a Nandroid Backup of your current rom.
Now flash this iDroid v1.2.2 rom zip on clockwork mod recovery. Follow the steps below :
- Choose Install Zip From Sd Card >> Choose Zip From SD Card option and then select the iDroid_1.2.2_Samsung_Galaxy_GT_s5570_PrinceEndymion88.zip file which you downloaded in step 3.
- Note : If you are using RZ Recovery, choose Install Menu >> Select iDroid_1.2.2_Samsung_Galaxy_GT_s5570_PrinceEndymion88.zip >> Select Wipe Data and Wipe Cache >> Choose Install iDroid_1.2.2_Samsung_Galaxy_GT_s5570_PrinceEndymion88.zip and wait till the zip is installed.
Note : It is needed to do a complete data and cache wipe as told in Step 8.
